Mathematics 8-9

The Mathematics 8 and 9 curriculum is meant to reinforce the main goals of mathematics education: using mathematics confidently to solve problems, using mathematics to better understand the world around us, communicating and reasoning mathematically, appreciating and valuing mathematics, making connections between mathematics and its applications, committing themselves to lifelong learning, becoming mathematically literate and using mathematics to participate in, and contribute to, society.

Workplace Mathematics 10

This pathway is designed to provide students with the mathematical understandings and critical-thinking skills identified for entry into the majority of trades and for direct entry into the work force. Topics include algebra, financial mathematics, geometry, measurement, number, statistics and probability.

Foundations and Pre-Calculus Mathematics 10

This pathway is designed to provide students with the mathematical understandings and critical-thinking skills identified for post-secondary studies in programs that do not require the study of theoretical calculus. Topics include financial mathematics, geometry, measurement, number, logical reasoning, relations and functions, statistics and probability.

Workplace Mathematics 11

This pathway is designed to provide students with the mathematical understandings and critical-thinking skills identified for entry into the majority of trades and for direct entry into the work force. Topics include algebra, financial mathematics geometry, measurement, number and statistics. The seven mathematical process (communication, connections, mental mathematics and estimation, problem solving, technology and visualization) are interwoven throughout the mathematical topics.
